Alfredo Chiappori Death – We are extremely saddened to announce the death of Alfredo Chiappori.
Alfredo Chiappori was an Italian satirical cartoonist and author (27 August 1943 – 14 October 2022).
Chiappori, a Lecco native, attended at the National Institute of Art and earned his degree there in 1965. After spending several years entirely devoted to painting, he began instructing art and drawing at the Liceo scientifico in his hometown in 1967. With the publication of Up il Sovversivo (“Up the Subversive”), a comic strip series influenced by the 1968 student demonstrations and appearing in the journal linus, he made his professional debut.
Following the publication of many books with the publisher Feltrinelli, Chiappori began a lengthy partnership as a cartoonist with the magazine Panorama in 1975. Along with these publications, he has worked with the Corriere della Sera daily, Ca Balà, and Fabbrica e stato magazines.
