Cheryl Roberts Death – Cheryl Roberts, a South African sports activist, passed away on Friday morning, athe age of 60.
Roberts promoted women’s sports and was active in them at all levels, from grassroots to worldwide.
Her sister Sharon reportedly told News24 Sport that Cheryl had a cancer diagnosis a few years ago.
She was squabbling. She was receiving her treatment and was making a full recovery.
“Over the past few months, it has been developing and getting worse.
“The cancer was getting worse when we received the authorizations for the treatment.
Sharon was cited as stating, “We last spoke to her yesterday, but we could see that her strength was slipping.
SA Rugby president Mark Alexander stated in a message from the Springbok team’s Twitter account that the team was grieved by Roberts’ loss.
“We are heartbroken to learn of Cheryl Roberts’ loss. She was a steadfast supporter of women’s sport, an advocate for equal opportunity, and a female sports activist in South Africa.
Our prayers are with her family, and may she rest in peace,” Alexander said.
