Sergio Brighenti Death – At the age of 90, former football player and coach Sergio Brighenti passed away Friday night in Milan. One of the best and most productive strikers in Italian league history was Brighenti. He was active from 1949 to 1965, and between Serie A and Serie B, he scored 155 goals.
He won two league championships while wearing the Inter jersey in 1952/1953 and 1953/1954, and with Italy, he became the first Italian player to score at Wembley for the English national team. He donned the Sampdoria jersey from 1960 to 1963, making 95 matches and tallying 43 goals.
