Is the war about to take a turn?
The Ukrainian army is said to have launched a major offensive in the south in order to push Russia out of the country. Here is what we know about this military action.
Ukraine announced earlier this week the launch of a major offensive against the Kherson region in southern Ukraine, occupied by Russia. This action had been expected for weeks.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky adopted an extremely combative tone during his evening address to the nation, announcing that the occupiers would be driven out of the country and all territories would be reconquered. “If Russian soldiers want to survive, now is the time to go home,” he said.
